Amazon Freight Partner CLJ Transporting Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

CLJ Transporting, a midsize regional trucking company and dedicated Amazon Freight Partner operating out of Winter Haven, Florida, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the Florida Middle Bankruptcy Court, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The company had run deliveries for Amazon within a 200-mile radius of Davenport for more than a decade and last reported a fleet of 18 trucks and 34 employees.
Rising interest costs on several short-term financing agreements were reportedly the primary driver of the company's financial deterioration. The next hearing in the case is set for October 14, and the filing indicates CLJ's intent to restructure and remain in business.
The filing comes days after Amazon suspended operations with cargo carrier 21 Air following a September 6 crash at Miami International Airport that killed five people, pending an NTSB investigation. Amazon works with more than 50,000 third-party carriers globally alongside its own fleet of over 80,000 semitrucks. Other Amazon-linked trucking companies that have filed for Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 protection since the start of 2026 include Allbound Carrier, Freight Sherpas Inc., Honey Bee Freight Group LLC, and K&L Trucking LLC.
