$GRAL Surges 33% on Favorable FDA Review Ahead of Key Galleri Advisory Panel Vote

Shares of GRAIL ($GRAL) jumped 33% yesterday after FDA staff documents revealed no major concerns regarding the analytical performance, study design, or primary safety profile of Galleri. The briefing comes ahead of a crucial FDA advisory committee meeting on September 23 to review and vote on the multi-cancer early detection test's regulatory approval application.
The rally directly benefits Hims & Hers Health ($HIMS), which invested $20 million into GRAIL last October, purchasing 285,510 shares at an average price of $70.05 for a sub-1% equity stake. With $GRAL trading around $105 per share, the position is currently worth approximately $30 million, yielding an unrealized gain of roughly $10 million for $HIMS.
Beyond its equity holding, $HIMS acts as a commercial distribution partner, integrating Galleri onto its platform in February 2026:
- GRAIL provides the multi-cancer blood test
- Hims manages telehealth ordering, Labs membership access, blood draws, and follow-up care
- Galleri carries a retail list price of ~$949, discounted by $250 to $699 for Hims Labs members
- Per-test revenue-sharing economics between the two companies have not been publicly disclosed
