Sui Offchain Tunnels Reach 40.6M TPS in Live AI Agent Stress Test

Sui ($SUI) recorded peak throughput of 40,614,180 transactions per second during a live demonstration at Sui Basecamp in Singapore, utilizing programmable offchain tunnels to simulate high-frequency microtransactions between autonomous AI agents.
The performance test surpassed Sui's previous benchmark of roughly 6.1 million TPS set in July. The architecture routes rapid, stateful machine interactions through offchain state tunnels that aggregate high-frequency activity—spanning autonomous agent payments, gaming, and messaging—before settling net finality back to Sui mainnet upon closing.
Over 10,000 tunnels were opened during the live run, with blockchain security firm CertiK serving as independent auditor to verify test data and cryptographic proofs. Mysten Labs leadership noted that while human transaction patterns rarely require millions of transactions per second, agentic machine commerce operating at sub-second frequencies will demand scalable, offchain execution rails with native blockchain settlement.
