Nvidia Is in Talks to Invest in Perplexity at a $30B+ Valuation

Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest in Perplexity as the AI search startup raises another multibillion-dollar funding round.
The deal could value Perplexity at more than $30 billion.
Perplexity’s annualized revenue has now climbed above $750 million, up from less than $250 million at the start of the year, helped by rapid growth in products like Perplexity Computer.
The relationship between the two companies has also been getting much closer.
Nvidia previously considered paying billions to license Perplexity technology and bring some of its employees into the company before discussions shifted toward a more traditional equity investment.
Perplexity is also part of Nvidia’s Nemotron Coalition, with the two teams reportedly working closely on hardware and software development.
The bigger pattern is becoming clear.
Nvidia is no longer just selling chips to AI companies.
It is increasingly investing directly in the software and model companies that could drive future demand for those chips.
