U.S. shifts Iran strategy from strikes to economic warfare
UPDATE: The U.S. is reportedly shifting its Iran strategy away from new military strikes and toward economic warfare, according to Axios.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told allies that Washington is not expected to initiate additional strikes for the time being.
Instead, the pressure is moving toward sanctions, financial restrictions and asset seizures.
The U.S. has reportedly seized nearly $1 billion in crypto linked to Iran since May alone.
For markets, this could reduce immediate military escalation risk while increasing pressure on Iran's financial system, trade partners and energy exports.
