Kioxia Plans $6.3 Billion NAND Expansion in Japan

Kioxia plans to invest more than $6.3 billion in a new NAND flash memory production facility at its Iwate plant in Japan, with operations targeted for 2029 or later, according to Nikkei.
The project will be developed jointly with Sandisk and is expected to receive support from Japanese government semiconductor subsidies. Kioxia currently ranks third globally in NAND market share, behind Samsung and SK Hynix, both of which are also expanding memory production.
