Tether reportedly becomes Gold.com's largest creditor with $1.5B loan

Tether has reportedly provided approximately $1.5 billion in financing to Gold.com, making the stablecoin issuer the precious-metals dealer's largest creditor, according to Bloomberg.
Gold.com reportedly had about $1.7 billion of outstanding precious-metal leases at the end of June, with Tether supplying most of the financing.
Tether also held approximately 146 tonnes of physical gold valued at roughly $20 billion as of Q2. The financing further expands Tether's exposure to the gold market beyond its existing physical reserves.
The scale of the position highlights Tether's growing diversification into traditional hard assets while also creating significant concentration and counterparty exposure.
