CFTC Names BTC, ETH, SOL, XLM, XTZ and XRP as Digital Commodities

The CFTC has listed $BTC, $ETH, $SOL, $XLM, $XTZ and $XRP as examples of "digital commodities."
Under the emerging CFTC-SEC taxonomy, assets classified as digital commodities are generally treated differently from securities.
Clearer classification could reduce regulatory uncertainty around US crypto markets and provide exchanges with a more defined framework for listing and oversight.
