U.S. and Chinese leaders set for state dinner with major technology executives

President Donald Trump is expected to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at a September 24 state dinner attended by senior U.S. technology and financial executives.
The reported U.S. attendees include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, $NVDA CEO Jensen Huang, Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook, $QCOM CEO Cristiano Amon, $JPM CEO Jamie Dimon and Citigroup Chair and CEO Jane Fraser. China has reportedly requested more than half of the roughly 100 available seats, according to NPR.
A separate discussion involving executives from Meta, Anthropic, Google and xAI is also being considered on the sidelines, according to CNN. The meetings come as AI, semiconductor access, trade and technology policy remain major areas of U.S.-China negotiations.
