Nvidia reportedly agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B
Nvidia $NVDA has reportedly agreed to acquire AI model platform Hugging Face for approximately $13 billion, according to the Financial Times.
The deal would significantly expand Nvidia's reach beyond AI accelerators and infrastructure into one of the industry's most important platforms for distributing and developing open-weight models.
Hugging Face reportedly rejected an Nvidia investment at a $7 billion valuation last year in an effort to preserve its independence, making the reported acquisition price a substantial premium to that earlier valuation.
If completed, the transaction would further strengthen $NVDA's position across the AI ecosystem and could accelerate adoption of open-weight models built and deployed on Nvidia infrastructure.
