$QUBT Posts 9,000% Revenue Jump as Quantum Stocks Rally Together

Quantum Computing Inc. ($QUBT) reported second-quarter revenue of $5.6 million, up more than 9,000% from $61,000 a year earlier, according to its SEC earnings filing. Revenue also rose 51% from the prior quarter's $3.7 million. QUBT shares traded near $9 on August 21, part of a broader rally that lifted seven quantum computing stocks that morning, per a Seeking Alpha report.
Much of QCi's improved bottom line came from a shrinking paper loss on warrant derivatives rather than operational profitability; net loss narrowed to $11.8 million from $36.5 million a year earlier. The company ended the quarter with a $42.5 million order backlog and $1.3 billion in cash. The quarter also included QCi's acquisition of NHanced Semiconductors, which added a second chip fabrication facility, though operating expenses rose 114% year-over-year to $21.8 million, partly on acquisition-related costs.
Other quantum names rallied on unrelated catalysts: D-Wave ($QBTS) gained as much as 7% after BMO Capital Markets issued a new Outperform rating and $35 price target, implying roughly 85% upside; Rigetti ($RGTI) rose 9.6% despite not being mentioned in BMO's note; IonQ ($IONQ) rose 7.5% after signing a non-binding agreement to become a listed cloud provider on a Canadian government quantum platform; and IBM advanced 2% after announcing it had successfully cooled and linked two cryogenic modules toward its 2029 fault-tolerant quantum computing goal.
Infleqtion ($INFQ) initially reported Q2 revenue up 116% to $12.6 million on August 12, then revised the figure to $13.5 million, a 157% increase, in an amended filing five days later — a revision most coverage reportedly missed.
