CXMT begins mass production of fifth-generation DRAM
China's CXMT has reportedly begun mass production of its fifth-generation DRAM technology, increasing memory density while delivering at least 50% more dies per wafer.
The company has also launched 24Gb LPDDR5X chips with roughly 50% greater capacity, marking another step in China's effort to expand domestic memory production and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.
Higher wafer efficiency and denser memory could strengthen China's position in the global memory market, although manufacturing yields, performance and the ability to scale production remain important factors.
