High-Earning Retirees Eligible for $100K+ in Federal Benefits as Debt, Insolvency Risks Grow

Some of America's wealthiest retirees are eligible for more than $100,000 a year in combined Social Security benefits, even as they hold record levels of wealth, according to Fortune. The national debt recently topped $40 trillion.
Social Security's retirement trust fund is projected to be depleted in 2032, at which point continuing program income would cover only about 78% of scheduled benefits, triggering an automatic across-the-board cut of roughly 22% absent congressional action.
