Vicor raises Q3 revenue growth outlook to more than 20%

$VICR now expects Q3 revenue to grow more than 20% sequentially, up from its previous outlook of nearly 10%, driven by royalties from a new non-exclusive license for its Vertical Power Delivery technology.
Vicor says four leading OEMs and hyperscalers have now licensed its power-system technology. CEO Patrizio Vinciarelli said some hyperscalers approached the company after computing systems using infringing power modules were blocked from import and amid concerns that systems using unlicensed VPD technology could face similar action.
The licensing model allows OEMs to source from multiple suppliers while generating royalty revenue for Vicor from its patented power-delivery architecture.
