Foreign Treasury holdings remain near records
<p>Foreign holdings of US Treasuries rose by 3.9 billion dollars in April to 9.35 trillion dollars, the second-highest level on record.<br><br>Japan increased its holdings by 18.3 billion dollars to 1.21 trillion dollars, the highest since February.<br><br>The UK added 10.6 billion dollars, bringing its holdings to a record 937.5 billion dollars.<br><br>China cut its holdings by 1.2 billion dollars to 651.1 billion dollars, the lowest since September 2008. That was also China’s third straight monthly decline.<br><br>Canada also reduced its holdings sharply, cutting 42.3 billion dollars to 397.1 billion dollars.<br><br>The Treasury market is still expanding, but the ownership structure remains fragmented.</p> <img src="https://api.tyriantrade.com/social/api/media/stream/8d404fda-b173-40f4-a868-19001446500c" alt="Post image"/>
