Coinbase and Singapore Police prevent $4.2M in scam losses
$COIN and Singapore Police reportedly helped prevent more than $4.2 million in crypto scam losses.
The amount was saved during a six-week joint operation that used blockchain analytics to identify 145 potential victims before they sent funds.
Coinbase, OKX, Gemini, and four other exchanges provided customer data so police could contact victims directly and stop transfers.
For the crypto industry, the bigger signal is that exchanges are becoming more active in fraud prevention and law-enforcement coordination.
For Coinbase, this supports the narrative that compliance, analytics, and user protection are becoming competitive advantages in regulated crypto markets.
