China advances domestic DUV lithography
China has begun producing its first homegrown immersion DUV lithography systems, with deliveries planned for $CXMT.
That is an important step for China’s semiconductor supply-chain independence.
The breakthrough could reduce reliance on $ASML at mature nodes, especially for less advanced chip production.
But the near-term competitive threat still looks limited.
Output remains tiny, and performance continues to trail ASML’s systems.
For $ASML, China’s progress matters strategically, but it does not yet replace the company’s dominance in high-end lithography.
