Cathie Wood Sells $28.7 Million of $GOOGL, Rotates Into $META

Cathie Wood's Ark funds sold a total of 86,531 shares of $GOOGL on September 9 and 11, worth about $28.7 million, while buying 43,091 shares of $META worth roughly $27.9 million on September 9 as the stock hit a two-month high on AI momentum, including the launch of its Muse AI assistant.
Mizuho reportedly said Meta's new Muse AI agent could pressure Google and give $META shares another boost, calling it polished and well-integrated with strong free access, according to The Fly.
$GOOGL's Q2 revenue reached $119.8 billion, topping estimates, with Google Cloud revenue up 82% to $24.8 billion. The company raised its 2026 capex forecast to $195–$205 billion, up from $180–$190 billion, and this week announced a $15.1 billion AI infrastructure investment in Finland, per Reuters. $GOOGL stock is up about 7% year-to-date, underperforming the S&P 500.
Alphabet is not a top-10 holding in the Ark Innovation ETF, which returned 8.66% year-to-date versus the S&P 500's 11.85%.
