$META Agrees to Hard Time Limits for Teens on Instagram and Facebook

Meta has agreed to hard limits on how long teens can use Instagram and Facebook, capping usage at two hours per day, with forced pauses at 15, 60, and 90 minutes, no notifications during school hours, and feeds going dark from midnight to 6 a.m.
The measures are part of a $16.68 billion settlement with 29 state attorneys general over allegations Meta designed its apps to hook young users. If TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat adopt similar rules, Meta's daily limit would drop to just one hour and remain there for a decade. Meta denies wrongdoing, though the rules take effect either way.
