U.S. Consumers’ Bullishness on Stocks Hits Highest Level Since 2021
The perceived probability among U.S. consumers that stock prices will be higher one year from now rose 0.5 percentage point in July to 41.4%, the highest level since April 2021.
Since March, the reading has climbed 5.1 percentage points, marking the second-highest level since the 2020 pandemic. The April 2020 peak was 51.8%.
Consumers under 40 are the most optimistic at 42.0%, the second-highest reading since September 2024. The 40-59 age group stands at 41.5%, the highest since January 2025, while consumers over 59 reached 41.1%, the highest since September 2025.
Bullish sentiment is spreading across all consumer age groups.
