Viral AI Assistant Instinct Freezes Mid-Task, Leaving Beta Users Stranded

Viral AI assistant Instinct, which manages users' email, calendars, and everyday errands directly via chat threads, has stopped responding for multiple users. Frustrated testers flooded founder Noah Shinn's mentions on X overnight to report frozen agents and unexecuted workflows.
Unlike standard conversational bots, Instinct operates with direct access to user accounts, scheduling appointments and dispatching emails. The disruption has left users uncertain about whether critical tasks were carried out, with messages displaying as "read" but generating no automated response, error message, or reminder execution.
Spear Street Technology, the startup behind Instinct, currently operates the assistant in an invite-only beta and does not host a public system status page. Neither the company nor Shinn has publicly commented on the scope, cause, or resolution timeline for the outage.
