Meta may shift part of its AI chip strategy to Samsung
$META is reportedly discussing a $6.5B AI chip manufacturing deal with Samsung Foundry.
The deal would cover Meta’s third-generation MTIA chips, built on Samsung’s 2nm process.
That matters because Meta has previously leaned on $TSM for advanced chip production.
If this moves forward, it would be another sign that big tech wants more flexibility in AI chip supply.
The AI hardware race is no longer just about buying GPUs. It is also about owning more of the silicon roadmap.
