Australia's Data-Center Power Demand Seen Jumping 7x by 2035-36

Australia expects data-center electricity use to rise to 34 TWh by 2035-36, lifting its share of national power demand to 13% from just 3% today.
The boom could drive as much as A$150 billion in data-center investment by 2030, but comes as 13 GW of coal and nearly 2 GW of gas generation are scheduled to retire over the next decade.
The Australian Energy Market Operator warned that data-center demand can come online much faster than new power infrastructure, increasing the risk of grid bottlenecks and higher electricity costs.
