Jeff Bezos Holds 879.3 Million Shares of $AMZN, Valued at Over $219 Billion

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos owned approximately 879.3 million shares of $AMZN, or about 8.8% of the company, as of late August 2026. Based on an $AMZN share price of $249.27, his stake is valued at more than $219.2 billion.
While Bezos owned 100% of the company when it launched in 1994, his ownership was diluted over the years through seed capital rounds, its 1997 IPO, and a 2019 divorce settlement. Despite ongoing stock sales and philanthropic donations, he remains the company's largest individual shareholder.
