$UBER Lays Off About 3,300 People, or 10% of Global Headcount

Uber is laying off approximately 3,300 people, about 10% of its global headcount, in a restructuring aimed at reducing management layers. The company announced the changes in an internal email from CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, published online Wednesday.
The cuts will shrink the number of managers by 20%, with a portion transitioning to individual contributor roles. Khosrowshahi said the move is intended to simplify the organization and free up savings to reinvest in growth, including the company's ride-sharing, delivery, and robotaxi businesses.
