OpenAI Seeks $30B Funding Round at $1.4T Valuation

OpenAI is in talks with UAE investment funds and BlackRock for a funding round of at least $30 billion at roughly a $1.4 trillion pre-money valuation, according to Bloomberg.
UAE investors, including Abu Dhabi-based MGX, have discussed contributing as much as $10 billion collectively, while $BLK is also considering participation. Existing backers Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz have held discussions alongside the University of California's endowment.
OpenAI is reportedly presenting investors with a fixed $1.4 trillion valuation rather than using a traditional lead-investor negotiation process.
The fundraising comes as the company pushes potential IPO plans until at least 2027 while continuing to raise enormous amounts of capital for AI development and infrastructure.
