NYSE explores bringing U.S. stocks and ETFs onchain

The NYSE is developing infrastructure designed to bring U.S. stocks and ETFs onchain through a tokenized securities platform with blockchain-based settlement and stablecoin funding.
The exchange has reportedly spent about a year testing Avalanche infrastructure. The proposed structure would preserve shareholder rights including dividends and voting while enabling fractional ownership and near-instant settlement.
ICE's Head of Strategic Initiatives said Avalanche meets many of the technical requirements being evaluated. The initiative could significantly expand institutional adoption of tokenized securities, although the final architecture, regulatory approvals and launch timeline remain important variables.
