Trump pushes for the world’s lowest U.S. interest rates
President Trump says he wants the U.S. to have “the lowest interest rate anywhere in the world.”
He told Fox that other countries are paying around 1% to 1.5%, while the U.S. is paying closer to 3% to 4%.
He also said the U.S. trade deficit is down 68% over the past year because of tariffs.
The message is clear: Trump wants lower rates, cheaper financing, and a more aggressive policy backdrop.
For $FEDFUNDS and $UST, this keeps political pressure on the Fed at the center of the rates story.
