U.S. Treasury is forecasted to buy back $6 Billion of their own debt this week ๐Ÿšจ

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is slated to repurchase up to $6 billion of its own debt this week as part of its ongoing liquidity support buyback program.
The operation targets off-the-run, longer-dated nominal coupon securities in the 20- to 30-year maturity bucket. By absorbing less-liquid, older debt issues trading at deep discounts and funding the transactions through shorter-term issuance, the Treasury aims to bolster secondary-market functioning and alleviate dealer balance sheet congestion without shifting the aggregate fiscal debt burden.
The purchase cap follows the Treasury's decision to scale up its long-term buyback limits to $6 billion, responding to elevated market demand and heavy primary dealer offer volumes across the long end of the curve.
