Putin Reportedly Proposes Trump-Xi Summit on Ukraine Without Zelensky
Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly proposed a summit with US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping next month to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The proposed meeting would reportedly exclude Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, raising questions about Ukraine's direct participation in negotiations concerning its own territory and security.
The initiative could represent an attempt to involve major global powers in a diplomatic framework, but substantial disagreements over territory, security guarantees and sanctions remain unresolved.
The summit is only a reported proposal. There is no confirmed agreement that all three leaders will attend or that any resulting negotiations would produce a peace settlement.
