Microsoft X Account Hacked to Promote Clippy Meme Coin

Microsoft's official X account was compromised and used to promote a Clippy-themed meme coin for roughly 30 minutes.
During the incident, the account reportedly followed and reposted token promoters and changed its profile picture to Clippy. Microsoft says it never authorized the use of Clippy to promote tokens and plans to take legal action.
Accounts associated with Robinhood's CEO, SpaceX and Starlink have also reportedly been hijacked to promote meme coins this year, highlighting the security risks surrounding social-media-driven crypto promotions.
