$CRWV Jumps After Goldman Sachs Upgrades CoreWeave to Buy
CoreWeave shares are surging about 6.4% in premarket trading after Goldman Sachs upgraded the AI infrastructure company to Buy.
Goldman set a $106 price target for $CRWV.
That target implies roughly 73% upside from the reference price used in the report.
The upgrade comes despite growing investor concerns around CoreWeave’s aggressive, debt-funded expansion strategy.
The company has been spending heavily to secure GPUs, data-center capacity and power as demand for AI compute continues to rise.
That creates a clear tradeoff.
If AI infrastructure demand remains strong and new capacity is absorbed quickly, CoreWeave could generate substantial revenue from its expanded footprint.
But the same strategy also increases leverage, financing costs and execution risk if demand slows or capacity comes online faster than customers can absorb it.
Goldman’s upgrade suggests the firm believes the long-term AI compute opportunity outweighs those balance-sheet concerns at current valuation levels.
For $CRWV, the key debate remains whether rapid infrastructure growth can translate into enough cash flow to justify the debt required to fund it.
