Charles Hoskinson Warns AI Could Undermine Idea Ownership, Points to Midnight for Privacy

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson is warning that sharing ideas with AI platforms could create serious privacy and ownership concerns.
“Share your ideas with AI, and they’re not yours anymore,” Hoskinson said.
He argues that academics, entrepreneurs and researchers risk losing control over sensitive ideas when those interactions are stored or accessible through centralized AI platforms.
“If you share them, OpenAI can take it at any time,” Hoskinson claimed.
Hoskinson says Cardano partner chain Midnight is designed to address that problem by creating privacy-focused environments where user logs and AI interactions are not openly exposed.
“Midnight fixes this because it creates private environments where they can’t read your logs.”
The broader debate is becoming increasingly important as AI assistants handle more proprietary research, business strategy and intellectual property.
If privacy becomes a major differentiator in AI adoption, decentralized and privacy-preserving infrastructure could gain more attention across the crypto and AI sectors.
