Crypto Derivatives Open Interest Rebounds Across BTC, ETH, and SOL Amid Broader Market Recovery

Open interest across cryptocurrency derivatives markets expanded significantly as spot prices rebounded, highlighted by aggregate exposure reaching $23.4 billion for Bitcoin ($BTC), $15.5 billion for Ethereum ($ETH), and $2.7 billion for Solana ($SOL), according to data from blockchain analytics platform Santiment.
The concurrent rise in outstanding perpetual and futures contracts alongside upward price action indicates a return of leveraged capital and speculative positioning across major digital assets. While increasing open interest reflects growing institutional and retail participation during market recoveries, elevated leverage concentrations across centralized exchanges also heighten sensitivity to near-term volatility, increasing the probability of cascading liquidation events if prices encounter overhead resistance.
