Fireblocks Rejects Report of $2.5B Acquisition Talks With Visa
Crypto custody infrastructure provider Fireblocks has denied reports that Visa $V is in late-stage discussions to acquire the company for approximately $2.5 billion.
According to The Block, Fireblocks stated that the claims were not true at the time of its response. Visa declined to comment on the reported negotiations.
The rumored transaction had drawn attention because Fireblocks provides digital asset custody and infrastructure services to institutional clients, making a potential partnership with a major payments network strategically significant.
However, Fireblocks' explicit denial means the reported acquisition should not be treated as a confirmed transaction. No definitive agreement, purchase price or closing timeline has been established.
