Foreign Investors Reverse Course With ¥1.34T Japanese Bond Outflow

Foreign investors pulled ¥1.34T from Japanese bonds last week after buying ¥2.24T the previous week, representing a roughly ¥3.6T swing in weekly flows, according to Japan's Ministry of Finance.
Japanese investors also sold ¥684.5B of foreign bonds over the same period.
The moves come as Japan's 10-year government bond yield trades near its highest level since 1996, while the yen remains weak near 157 per US dollar. Japan also remains the largest foreign holder of US government debt, with roughly $1.2T in Treasuries.
