Andy Jassy Says AWS Capacity Is Largely Sold Out Through 2027

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy says AWS cloud capacity is largely sold out through 2027, with a meaningful portion of 2028 capacity already committed.
That is a strong signal that AI infrastructure demand remains well ahead of available supply.
For $AMZN, the constraint is increasingly not finding customers, but bringing enough compute, power and data-center capacity online fast enough to serve them.
The long booking horizon also challenges the view that AI infrastructure demand will quickly normalize as new supply enters the market.
Customers are already reserving capacity years in advance.
That gives AWS greater visibility into future utilization and potentially strengthens pricing power for scarce high-end compute.
It also supports continued investment across GPUs, custom chips, networking, power and data-center construction.
The key risk is execution.
Amazon now needs to convert massive infrastructure spending into usable capacity quickly enough to capture demand without overbuilding if the market eventually cools.
For now, AWS being largely sold out through 2027 suggests the AI compute shortage is still very real.
