Indonesia's Jakarta Composite Falls Below 5,000 After Two-Day 16.3% Collapse

Indonesia's stock market is reportedly extending its historic selloff, with the Jakarta Composite falling another 5.36% and dropping below 5,000 for the first time in approximately six years.
The latest decline reportedly erased an additional $27 billion in market value, following Friday's 11.57% plunge. Together, the two sessions represent a compounded decline of approximately 16.3%, with estimated market capitalization losses approaching $90 billion.
October's decline has reportedly reached 19%, potentially marking the index's worst month since the 2008 financial crisis.
Investor concerns have intensified over the possibility of MSCI removing Indonesian equities from major global indexes. Such a decision could trigger passive fund outflows, but any exclusion remains a potential outcome rather than a confirmed action.
