$SNPS and OpenAI Partner to Launch GPT-Synopsys for AI-Driven Semiconductor Design
Synopsys and OpenAI have signed a multi-year partnership to develop GPT-Synopsys, a specialized artificial intelligence model built to directly utilize Synopsys EDA tools for semiconductor design.
The model is designed to handle complex workflows such as PPA optimization, timing closure, and verification. Autonomous agents will run the tools, interpret results, and iterate on chip designs for engineer review.
Under the agreement, OpenAI will license Synopsys electronic design automation tools. Both companies will share revenue and jointly bring the product to market.
GPT-Synopsys will operate on OpenAI-hosted infrastructure and integrate directly with Synopsys AI and Synopsys Autopilot, with early customer engagements already underway.
