PewDiePie Unveils Self-Hosted 'Uncensored' AI Model Ajax

PewDiePie has unveiled Ajax, an "uncensored" AI model designed to run locally on home PCs, and says OpenAI banned him twice while he was developing it.
The YouTube creator said he wanted to "distill a little bit," using OpenAI outputs to improve his model's training data. Ajax is built on Alibaba's Qwen 3.5 9B and powers his self-hosted Odysseus workspace for tasks including web searches, email and calendar management.
The launch comes as questions around AI training data remain under scrutiny, with OpenAI facing copyright lawsuits from organizations including The New York Times and WikiHow alleging unauthorized use of protected content.
