Nubank and Mercado Pago Temporarily Suspend Crypto Transfers After Provider Disruptions

Two of Latin America's largest fintech platforms, Nubank and Mercado Pago, have temporarily suspended certain cryptocurrency transfers following disruptions involving external service providers.
Nubank attributed the issue to an external data provider, emphasizing that customer assets and information remain protected. Mercado Pago also restricted some transfers to external wallets as a precaution, while warning that crypto deposits could be delayed.
Both platforms said customer funds remain safe. However, the interruptions raise questions about the reliability of third-party infrastructure supporting crypto services.
