$HOOD Drops Over 4% Despite Securing Dubai DFSA Regulatory License
Robinhood Markets ($HOOD) shares fell more than 4% despite securing regulatory authorization from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to launch its retail trading platform in the Middle East next year.
The approval from the Dubai International Financial Centre's regulatory body will allow the platform to offer 10 approved asset classes, including equities, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds, and investment tokens.
Chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev described the expansion into the DIFC hub as a major step toward building a global retail investment platform, following a month in which Robinhood processed $17.5 billion in cryptocurrency trading volume.
