IEA Warns Global Diesel Shortages Could Persist Into 2027 as Supply Disruptions Deepen

The International Energy Agency reportedly expects global diesel shortages to continue into 2027 as geopolitical disruptions restrict energy supplies.
According to the reported figures, oil supply has fallen by 5.8 million barrels per day, while demand has declined by 2.6 million barrels per day as higher prices and disruptions reduce consumption. The market reportedly faces a supply deficit of approximately 1.73 million barrels per day.
Persistent diesel shortages could increase transportation, agricultural and industrial costs, adding inflationary pressure even as consumers and businesses reduce fuel usage.
