Anthropic Alignment Lead Reportedly Estimates Greater Than 10% Chance AI Could Kill All Humans This Decade

Ed said a claim that AI "could kill us all by the end of the decade" was endorsed by a current Anthropic researcher, whom he identified as the company's alignment science lead. According to Ed, the researcher said: "Jacob is correct. We really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans. I personally think it is a greater than 10% chance within the next decade."
Scott Galloway responded by comparing the claim to a hypothetical scenario in which the CEO of Boeing said there was a 10% chance that any 737 MAX would crash, asking what the response would be in that case.
