Hyperliquid Whale Opens $30.1M in Leveraged Anthropic Pre-IPO Shorts
A large trader has reportedly opened approximately $30.1 million in short positions tied to Anthropic pre-IPO perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid.
The positions are spread across two markets and use approximately 6x leverage, creating substantial exposure to changes in the contracts' prices.
Unlike conventional short selling of publicly traded shares, these perpetual contracts provide synthetic exposure to the valuation of a private company. Their prices may not accurately reflect the value established in a future funding round or public listing.
The trade represents a sizable bearish position, although it does not establish the trader's broader portfolio exposure or whether the shorts are intended as a hedge.
With leverage amplifying both gains and losses, sharp price movements could trigger significant margin requirements or liquidations.
