UAE-Led Global Anti-Scam Operation Traces Over $39B and Leads to 960+ Arrests
A UAE-led international law enforcement operation has identified more than $39 billion in fraud-linked funds and digital assets, resulting in over 960 arrests across a coordinated effort involving 30 countries.
The initiative, known as Operation Confrontation Ghost, targeted AI-enabled scams, online financial fraud and technology-facilitated extortion. Authorities also identified thousands of additional suspects and victims while disrupting fraudulent accounts and operations.
The results highlight growing international cooperation against organized digital financial crime, including the misuse of cryptocurrency for illicit transactions.
Importantly, the $39 billion represents assets identified or traced, not necessarily funds seized or recovered. Asset recovery and related investigations remain ongoing.
