Sam’s Club Partners With Affirm to Offer Buy Now, Pay Later Installments Ahead of Holidays

Walmart-owned ($WMT) warehouse chain Sam’s Club announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership with Affirm ($AFRM) to provide buy now, pay later (BNPL) installment options for big-ticket holiday shopping. Eligible members can finance online purchases of $500 or more into fixed monthly plans ahead of the holiday season, with in-store rollout across physical clubs slated for 2027.
Under the integration, approved shoppers receive real-time underwriting with annual percentage rates ranging from 0% to 36% with no late fees or compounding interest, matching a similar online financing arrangement rival Costco ($COST) established with Affirm in 2025 for purchases up to $17,500.
The launch arrives amid unprecedented demand for flexible consumer credit:
• Adobe forecasts holiday BNPL online spending to reach a record $21.3 billion this season, up 6.6% year-over-year.
• Nearly 38% of holiday shoppers plan to use BNPL services in 2026, according to NerdWallet, though 38% of planned users also expressed concern over potential missed or incomplete payments.
