Did Anthropic’s IPO Filing Just Spark the Next AI Stock Rally?

Anthropic’s initial public offering (IPO) filing has reignited investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence stocks, raising the question of whether the AI trade is preparing for another rally.
On October 26, AI-linked stocks climbed as investors responded to Anthropic’s move toward a public listing. Nvidia ($NVDA) gained nearly 3%, while Microsoft ($MSFT) and Amazon ($AMZN) each rose around 1%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index advanced more than 3%, with gains across chipmakers, memory companies and AI infrastructure providers.
Interactive Brokers strategist Steve Sosnick noted that the filing helped revive excitement around AI-related investments, encouraging investors to return to the sector.
However, the renewed optimism comes amid concerns about the sustainability of AI spending, rising borrowing costs and whether massive infrastructure investments will generate sufficient returns. Anthropic’s IPO could also establish a new valuation benchmark for leading AI companies while influencing how investors value chipmakers and data-center operators.
The filing has provided a fresh catalyst for AI stocks, but whether it marks the beginning of a sustained rally will depend on upcoming earnings, spending trends and evidence that AI investments are translating into profitable growth.
