Nebius Secures Day-Zero Access to One of the Largest Open-Source AI Models

Nebius Token Factory became an official launch partner for Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3, giving developers access through its OpenAI-compatible API and console on the same day the model was released.
The timing matters because a 2.8 trillion-parameter model is far too large for most companies to self-host. Moonshot reportedly recommends production configurations using at least 64 accelerators , forcing many developers to rely on external inference providers.
By integrating, testing, and launching Kimi K3 immediately, Nebius positioned itself as one of the earliest on-ramps for demand that competitors could otherwise capture.
The broader thesis is that cheaper AI does not necessarily reduce infrastructure spending. As the cost of intelligence falls, companies can use the same budgets to process more tokens, deploy more applications, and solve increasingly complex problems—potentially increasing total compute consumption.
