Zuckerberg: "Elite" AI Access Could Distort Society
Mark Zuckerberg said powerful AI should be broadly available rather than concentrated in the hands of a few, warning that "elite" AI access could distort society.
He said if only a small group has access to superintelligent tools, they could gain outsized advantages across institutions, whereas putting advanced AI in everyone's hands could create stronger checks and balances and make systems work more efficiently.
Zuckerberg added that rigid regulation could become outdated quickly, suggesting close cooperation between AI companies and the U.S. government may be more effective.
